  • Determination of the number of presumptive Bacillus cereus in foods, food raw materials and feeds
  • Determination of the number of Lactobacillus bacteria in foods and feeds, food supplements
  • * ACU = articles of common use

Microbiological analysis of drinking water, bottled water in the full scope of current legislation

  • Determination of faecal contamination indicators (faecal streptococci, Escherichia coli and coliforms)
  • Determination of culturable microorganisms at 22 °C and 36 °C
  • Determination of Clostridium perfringens

Microbiological analysis of bottled water, swimming pool water

  • Determination of culturable microorganisms at 36 °C
  • Determination of the number of coagulase-positive staphylococci
  • Determination of the number of Escherichia coli
  • Determination of the number of Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Determination of microbial contamination

in the environment of food processing facilities and municipal buildings

Microbiological analysis of air

  • Determination of the total concentration of the mixed mould population

Cosmetics, cosmetic products and medical products

  • Detection of microorganisms monitored in cosmetic products and medical devices
  • Stress test for preservation efficacy

Identification of microorganisms by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry

Laboratory of genetically modified organisms (GMO):

  • Proof and quantification of GMOs by PCR in food raw materials, food and feed
  • Quantification of GMOs by real-time PCR in food raw materials, food and feed

Our accredited testing laboratory is included in the list of laboratories authorised to carry out the activity of controlling the presence and quantification of transgenes in the permitted scope for the Ministry of the Environment.

Review:

In addition to accredited laboratory analyses, testing laboratory of the DPM UCT is significantly involved in cooperation with entities (customers) in the field of education. It organises a number of professional courses in the field of microbiology, which are always organised in accordance with the needs of customers. The courses are always held in two parts - theoretical and practical in the laboratories of the students.

Members of the laboratory team are also very actively involved as experts in the training of microbiology staff of food laboratories from/abroad - e.g., Saudi Arabia, lectures and laboratory courses. These courses are focused on the detection of pathogens in food. At the same time, new methods are introduced and validated according to customer requirements (regular courses for European and African microbiologists and Coca Cola managers).

We also organise popular training courses for secondary school students to broaden their knowledge of the natural sciences, particularly food microbiology.
